What is the 0.0 Hunab Ku?

The 0.0 Hunab Ku is the name given to the Gregorian Leap Year Day of 29 February in the 13 Moons / Dreamspell Count, which is not taken into account. Consequently, this Leap Day doesn’t have a Kin, nor a place inside the Calendar of the 13 Moons, but it is instead accounted as 0.0 Hunab Ku.

This day constitutes a disruption of the 260-day Dreamspell Tzolkin Count and of the 13:28 calendar system of 365 days. The 0.0 Hunab Ku day is thus considered as another Day Out of Time, therefore it relates to the Power of Timelessness.

The 0.0 Hunab Ku normally occurs between Day 22 and Day 23 of the 8th Moon of Integrity, and between the seals of the Blue Monkey and the Yellow Human.

In the parallel 13:28 Count of Telektonon, the 0.0 Hunab Ku occurs between the Unit 22, which marks the completion of the Warrior Cube, and the Unit 23, which marks the Lovers Reunion of Pakal Votan and Bolon Ik, the bridging of Heaven and Earth.

Leap Day 0.0 Hunab Ku

In the Gregorian Calendar, a Leap Year generally occurs every 4 years when the calendar has 366 days instead of 365 and, consequently, the month of February has 29 days instead of its normal 28 days.

This extra day on 29 February is called a Leap Day, and it corrects the Gregorian Calendar’s accumulative error with respect to the Solar Year. This is because the actual Solar Tropical Year has 365.24219878 days instead of 365 days. In the same way, the Calendar of the 13 Moons also counts 365 days instead of the actual 365.24219878 days.

In the calendar system of the 13 Moons / Dreamspell, the 0.0 Hunab Ku adjustment on Leap Day was implemented by José and Lloydine Argüelles in order to keep the 52-year cycle of harmonisation between the 13 Moon Calendar of 365 days and the 13:20 Dreamspell Tzolkin of 260 days. For example, every 52 years we Return to our Kin of birth on the exact day of our birthday, which means the completion of our personal Dreamspell Castle of 52 years (4 cycles of 13 years each = 52).

In the book of the Thirteen Moons in Motion (PAN 1992), José and Lloydine Argüelles defined the 52-year harmonisation as the:

“Galactic-Solar Return Cycle: Precise synchronization of 52 solar-lunar years with 73 galactic spins. Thirteen harmonic returns and four galactic returns (18,980 kin).“

However, the disruption of the counts on a Leap Day constitutes one of the main criticisms of the 13 Moons. After discrediting the validity of the Gregorian calendar, the 13 Moons still synchs with it on 29 February (observed as 0.0 Hunab Ku), in order to maintain the 52-year cycle. By doing so, it inevitable causes an interruption of the 13:20 Dreamspell Tzolkin Count. Therefore, people born on 29 February don’t have a Kin and they have to chose one between the one of the day before (28 February) or the day after (1 March).

The Leap Day and the Maya Calendars

The Ancestral Maya Count never stops on a Gregorian Leap Day. In other words, the Maya Long Count, the Maya Tzolkin Calendar and the Maya Haab Calendar, always keep on counting.

Thus, the Ancestral Maya RealTime is not connected to the Gregorian Calendar, whereas the 13 Moons is dependant on the Gregorian Leap Day of 29 February, in order to manifest the adjustment day of 0.0 Hunab Ku.

The Quantum Leap Day 366

The Quantum Leap Day is a visionary concept inscribed by author Gar Magusa on his book 19:19 Crystal Matrix: The Sacred Crystal Meditation of the Ascended Masters.

The 19:19 Crystal-Solar calendar system doesn’t observe the Gregorian Leap Day of 29 February, but it adjusts the calendar on the Solar Day 366 which is inscribed as the Quantum Leap Day. Therefore, the 19:19 calendar system doesn’t stop the count on the Gregorian Leap Day because it is not dependant on the Gregorian Calendar.

This special Quantum Leap Day is observed by the Dreamspell Crystal Initiates as the Quantum Day Out of Time. This quantum day is celebrated on each 25th of July of a Leap Year since the first celebration in 2016.

Leap Years and the RealTime-DreamTime

Evidently, the arrangement between the DreamTime (Galactic Maya Dreamspell) and the RealTime (Ancestral Maya Tzolkin) always changes with a Leap Year. The DreamTime Tzolkin count is ahead of the RealTime Tzolkin count and the difference between them is always diminishing with the Leap Years.

For example, in the 2012-2016 Leap Year Period, the difference was 47 days between both counts, whereas in the last 2016-2020 leap Year Period, it was 46 days. This new 2020-2024 Leap Year Period has a difference of 45 days between both counts.

Eventually, both Tzolkin counts will be fully synchronised and they could stay equally harmonised but only if the Dreamspell / 13 Moons ignores the Gregorian Leap Day.

The Unified Time (RealTime + DreamTime) also changes every 4 years with a Leap Year. During the last 2016-2020 Leap Year Period , the Unified Time of every day was always a pair Kin number, e.g. Kin 18, Kin 22, Kin 34, Kin 60, etc. Whereas during this new 2020-2024 Year Period we will only see impair Kin numbers in the Unified Time, e.g. Kin 17, Kin 19, Kin 21, Kin 33, Kin 59, etc.
